Staff WordPress Developer

We are seeking a Staff WordPress Developer in a senior-level role focused on technical leadership and software design.

Responsibilities:

● Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.

● Provide technical guidance for the design, architecture, and implementation of complex

software systems.

● Make high-level design decisions and provide guidance on coding practices and development

methodologies.

● Test and debug code to ensure functionality and quality.

● Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, timelines, and deliverables.

● Provide guidance to the team. Fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

● Ensure adherence to best practices and standards.

● Maintain comprehensive documentation for all development work, including technical specifications, user guides, and process flows.

● Execute bug fixes.

● Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and share knowledge with the team.

● Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, implementing solutions to improve performance, scalability, and reliability.

● Provide meaningful feedback and project updates to ensure projects stay on track and meet customer needs.

● Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, proposing and implementing innovative solutions to enhance our products.

Skills, Competencies, and Qualifications:

● Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent

experience).

● 7+ years of development experience in the WordPress space.

● Transparent and reliable, owns both successes and failures.

● Strong experience with MySQL.

● Full understanding of the product development life cycle and project methodologies (agile/scrum).

● Strong experience crafting modern PHP and working knowledge of current frameworks.

● Proficient in React.js and its core principles.

● Advanced HTML & CSS knowledge.

● Experience with developing blocks for the Block Editor.

● Full understanding of continuous integration and automated deployment pipelines.

● Highly skilled at building accessible, performant sites.

● Comfortable working in a Linux environment.

● A passion for improving software/systems.

● Ability to work remotely with little-to-no oversight.
