Test Automation Engineer with German

IT-Impulse is expanding to Bulgaria, with an office in Sofia, where we are building a local team of IT specialists. We represent a Software Engineering division of the international company JobImpulse GmbH with more than 9.000 employees in 51 locations in 12 countries and we act as an intermediary between the IT software development department and highly qualified IT specialists on the job market.

IT-Impulse with its offices in Seville (Spain) and Kosice (Slovakia) is the point of contact when it comes to IT Outsourcing and Nearshoring.

About the Role:

We’re looking for an experienced Test Automation Engineer to join our team. You’ll create and maintain automated tests, ensuring they are clean, maintainable, and well-documented. This is a hands-on role — not junior, not an architecture-only position — for someone who works independently, sees the big picture, and enjoys improving processes.

What You’ll Do:

• Develop and maintain automated test cases and suites using QFTest (or similar).
• Script in JavaScript, Python, or Jython.
• Work with Jenkins, Git, Jira, and optionally TestRail.
• Understand product functionality enough to write meaningful tests without constant guidance.
• Suggest improvements to existing conventions and workflows.
• Take initiative and recognize tasks independently.

What We’re Looking For:

• Several years of experience in test automation (Windows or web apps).
• Hands-on experience with QFTest is a plus.
• Strong sense of maintainable, well-structured test architecture.
• Structured working style and scripting skills.
• Fluent in German (for Jira and test cases) and good English for team communication.
• Curious, proactive, and genuinely interested in understanding the product.
