Data Analyst (Power BI)

Sprintax, part of Clune Tech, is a web-based tax return preparation software that provides a number of tax related services to non-residents in the United States. We help thousands of international visitors such as students, scholars, teachers, trainees, researchers, work and travel participants and other foreign individuals that are temporary in the United States each year with the preparation of their tax returns.

We are currently looking for enthusiastic Data Analyst to join the dynamic team! As one you will focus on Power BI to turn business questions into clear KPIs, intuitive dashboards, and actionable insights. You’ll partner with teams across the business to define the needs, build useful reports, and explain the story behind the numbers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Understand the need: run short discovery chats, clarify goals, and translate them into KPIs and simple success metrics.
• Build useful dashboards: create and iterate Power BI reports and visuals that help non-technical users make decisions.
• Keep data reliable: support data preparation with Power Query and light DAX (time trends, comparisons), and ensure scheduled refreshes run smoothly.
• Tell the story: present findings, highlight trends and risks, and recommend next steps in plain language.
• Drive adoption: collect feedback, improve usability (navigation, tooltips, bookmarks), and provide quick “how-to” sessions for users.
• Document & govern; maintain KPI definitions and report notes; follow access and confidentiality rules (incl. row-level access where relevant).

Requirements:

• 1–2 years in an analyst, reporting, or BI role or strong internship/portfolio demonstrating Power BI work.
• Experience building Power BI dashboards end-to-end for business users.
• Working knowledge of Power Query and basic DAX (e.g., simple measures, time comparisons).
• Strong communication skills in English; ability to explain insights to non-technical stakeholders.
• A user-first mindset and an eye for clear visuals.
• Fluent in English – both speaking and writing.

Preferred:

• Basic SQL for exploring data and answering ad-hoc questions.
• Experience with row-level security and workspace publishing in Power BI Service.
• Solid Excel skills: familiarity with Power Automate or Microsoft Fabric is a plus.
• Comfort with basic statistics (trends, variance, distributions.
