Process Development Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Process Development Engineer to join our Reichle & De-Massari Bulgaria team. As a Process Development Engineer, you will play a key role in developing, optimizing, and improving manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement new processes or enhancements to existing processes
• Conduct research and analysis to identify areas for process improvement and optimization within the production environment
• Utilize statistical tools and data analysis techniques to evaluate process performance and identify areas for optimization
• Lead and participate in process validation and qualification activities, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase yield, reduce waste, and improve overall product quality
• Provide technical expertise and support to production teams, assisting with troubleshooting and resolving process-related issues
• Design and conduct experiments to test hypotheses and validate new process technologies or materials
• Evaluate and select equipment and technologies to support process development and scale-up activities
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process specifications
• Plan and execute product and process transfers between global production sites, ensuring smooth transitions with minimal disruption
• Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in process development engineering, recommending and implementing best practices

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering
• Proven experience in process development or process engineering within a manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of statistical analysis and tools such as Design of Experiments (DOE) and Statistical Process Control (SPC)
• Experience with process scale-up and technology/product transfer between plants
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a data-driven approach
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and effectively communicate complex technical concepts
• At least 3 years of experience in a similar position (as a process/production engineer in manufacturing will be considered a big advantage)
• Experience with Lean methodology and tools
• Knowledge of measurement instruments and test equipment
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP is an advantage)
• Excellent command of English – daily communication with foreign colleagues
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented, multicultural environment and effectively communicate complex technical concepts
