    Tech Stack / Requirements

OpsHero is a boutique technology firm with a exclusive  focus on DevOps services. We thrive on our non-traditional, flat structure which enables us to navigate away from the constraints of the corporate world. This allows us to maintain agility and adaptability, ensuring our ability to swiftly meet the evolving needs of our clients.

At OpsHero, we are at the forefront of innovation, always incorporating cutting-edge technologies into our processes. We believe that by bridging the gap between development and operations, we can accelerate product delivery, enhance efficiency, and ultimately drive our client’s success.

We are seeking a DevOps specialist with a deep background in Kubernetes, cloud technologies, and automation. In this position, you’ll design, implement, and maintain resilient infrastructure solutions while adhering to industry-leading performance and security practices.

    What you’ll do

Build & evolve the delivery rails (GitOps + CI/CD): Build and improve GitLab pipelines and ArgoCD app patterns for safe, declarative releases (promotions, rollbacks, drift detection). Drive reusable pipeline templates and environment gating.

Package & ship services the right way: Build and Maintain Helm charts (labels/annotations, values hygiene, CRDs) and publish to OCI registries; enforce version immutability and automated validations.

Operator lifecycle management: Develop/extend Kubernetes Operators and manage their rollout/upgrade flows across clusters.

Service mesh operations (Istio/Envoy): Implement traffic policy (timeouts, retries, circuit breaking), progressive delivery topologies, and mTLS by default for zero-trust.

Policy & access (OPAL/OPA): Wire policy-as-code with real-time distribution of rules and data; keep services continuously in sync with authorization changes. Experience is a plus.

Observability that matters: Instrument apps and platform with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus/Alertmanager, Loki/Grafana; define golden dashboards, SLOs/SLIs, and actionable alerts.

Kubernetes day-2 operations: Namespaces/projects, RBAC, quotas/limits, NetworkPolicies, Ingress/Gateways, HPA/VPA tuning; coordinate infra asks (nodes, CNI, control plane) with the platform team.

Partner across teams: Collaborate with backend, security, and infra to ship resilient, cost-efficient services; lead smoke checks and release notes.

    What you’ll need

Kubernetes/OpenShift: Solid with controllers, CRDs, RBAC, networking (CNI, Ingress, Istio), autoscaling, and multi-tenant hardening.

GitOps & CI/CD: Production experience with ArgoCD and GitLab CI/CD (pipelines, runners, env vars/secrets, promotions).

Helm + OCI: Comfortable writing maintainable charts and publishing to OCI registries; understands versioning/immutability practices.

Operators: Hands-on with Operator SDK (or equivalent) and day-2 upgrade strategies.

Service Mesh & Gateway: Experience with Istio/Envoy (traffic policy, mTLS) and KrakenD (JWT, rate limiting) is a plus.

Policy as code: Familiar with OPA; bonus for OPAL (policy/data distribution).

Observability: Experience with OTel signals, metrics/logs/traces, and SLO-based alerting.

Linux & Go: Strong Linux fundamentals is a must; ability to build/extend Go-based ops tooling.

    Nice to have

    • OpenStack experience.
    • Argo Rollouts/Progressive delivery, External Secrets, eBPF/Cilium, Cluster API, OpenShift
    • CKA/CKAD/CKS or CNCF certs;
    • Contributions to Operators/Controllers.

    How you’ll work

You own: K8s/app-layer delivery (GitLab + Argo CD), Helm/Operator releases, mesh/gateway configuration, policy wiring and integration with the backend and the platform.

You partner on: Underlying OpenStack/cluster infra (node pools, control plane, CNI, LB/DNS, KMS); you raise requests, plan windows, and validate outcomes.
