About the Company

Our client is seeking a talented Backend Engineer to design, build, and maintain reliable, scalable, and secure systems powering modern applications. This role offers the chance to work closely with front-end developers, product managers, and designers to deliver seamless end-to-end user experiences. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Kotlin (experience with Java also valued).
• Ensure system scalability, performance, and reliability.
• Collaborate with front-end teams to deliver smooth user experiences.
• Write clean, testable, and maintainable code following best practices.
• Design and optimize database schemas, queries, and integrations.
• Troubleshoot, monitor, and resolve production issues.
• Participate in architectural discussions and propose improvements.
• Conduct code reviews and contribute to sprint planning and technical discussions.
• Follow established processes while suggesting improvements where beneficial.

Requirements

• 5 years of professional backend development experience.
• Proficiency in Kotlin or Java, with a willingness to work primarily in Kotlin.
• Strong hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring Data, and Spring Security.
• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and best practices.
• Knowledge of relational databases (e.g., MySQL), non-relational databases, and caching systems such as Redis.
• Familiarity with build tools like Gradle or Maven.
• Proficiency with Git and version control workflows.
• Strong problem-solving mindset, attention to detail, and sense of ownership.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken).

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Exposure to event-driven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Knowledge of testing frameworks (JUnit, MockMvc, WebTestClient).
• Understanding of API security, OAuth2, and JWT.
• Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
