Senior Infrastructure Engineer

About the Position:

We are hiring a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to take ownership of a complex hybrid infrastructure setup. The role involves maintaining and modernizing large-scale Windows Server environments—covering Hyper-V clusters, Storage Spaces Direct, and SQL Server high-availability configurations—while extending and integrating with Azure cloud services. You’ll have significant autonomy and exposure to multi-site Hetzner datacenters and Azure tenants.

Core Responsibilities:

• Configure, operate, and enhance multi-node Hyper-V clusters with S2D, ensuring redundancy across sites;
• Manage SQL Server clusters with Always On groups and replication for HA;
• Detect, troubleshoot, and resolve issues using monitoring tools;
• Apply networking/security practices including segmentation, QoS enforcement, and encryption;
• Deploy and maintain Docker workloads tied to automated DevOps pipelines;
• Execute live migrations, cluster upgrades, and continuity procedures without downtime;
• Oversee capacity planning, storage scaling, and disaster recovery with replication;

Skills & Background:

• At least 5 years of infrastructure engineering experience;
• In-depth knowledge of Windows Server clustering, Hyper-V, and Storage Spaces Direct (S2D);
• Experience with SQL Server Always On, clustering, mirroring, and HA solutions;
• Strong scripting and automation background: PowerShell, Ansible, Bicep/ARM;
• Proficiency with monitoring/observability tools: Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, Azure Insights;
• Networking and security expertise: VLAN configuration, QoS, BitLocker, SSL management, ISO 27001;
• Hands-on cloud integration: Azure DevOps, hybrid Active Directory, Azure Monitor;
• Docker containerization with CI/CD integration into on-prem systems;
• Bonus: Hetzner hosting environments, IIS, Wazuh SIEM, Portainer.
