Position Overview
We’re seeking an experienced SQL Server DBA / Database Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SQL Server database management, performance tuning, and data replication who will be responsible for maintenance, performance, and integrity of our SQL Server databases in Azure environment.
Responsibilities
Install, configure, and upgrade SQL Server instances. Monitor and maintain SQL Server databases to ensure high availability and performance
Configure and monitor MS replication strategies like Always On and Transactional Replication in Azure
Identify and resolve performance issues. Provide suggestions to optimize queries, indexes, and database schemas to enhance database performance
Implement and manage backup and recovery strategies. Perform regular database backups and restore operations as needed
Provide technical support for database-related issues. Troubleshoot and resolve database problems in a timely manner
Work closely with developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to design and implement database solutions that meet business needs
Maintain accurate documentation of database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate) are preferred
Minimum of 10 years of experience as a SQL Server DBA or Database Engineer
Proficient in SQL Server 2016/2019/2022
Experience with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), SQL Server Profiler, and other related tools
Strong understanding of T-SQL, stored procedures, and triggers
Knowledge of database design, indexing, and query optimization
Experience with SQL Server Always On, Replication, and High Availability solutions
Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Nice To Have
Familiarity with storing Fixed Income data, especially mortgages
Knowledge of other database systems (e.g., Snowflake, PostgreSQL)
Familiarity with ODBC, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines
