About the role

In this role, you will be a key member of our technical team, responsible for bringing our clients’ most ambitious ideas to life. You will design, develop, and deploy a wide range of bespoke software solutions, from sophisticated invoicing and payment platforms to cutting-edge AI & Automation tools and custom PayloadCMS websites. The work is diverse – one day you might be pioneering a new AI-driven solution, and the next you might be focused on improving the core functionality of an existing client system.

The environment at Zone2 is fast-paced and varied. A significant part of your role will involve direct collaboration with clients and you will play an active role in technical discussions that help shape project roadmaps. We’re looking for a strong, independent problem-solver with excellent technical and client-facing skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable full-stack applications, including building front-end interfaces, back-end services, and APIs.
• Contribute to technical design and architectural discussions, working closely with senior leadership.
• Participate in client meetings to understand requirements and help translate them into technical specifications.
• Independently manage and take ownership of the development lifecycle, from coding and implementation to deployment.
• Uphold high standards of code quality through code reviews, implement testing strategies as required, and actively contribute to the improvement of our internal development processes.
• Contribute to internal R&D projects, exploring new technologies and building proofs-of-concept.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in a full-stack development role.
• Strong proficiency in our core stack: TypeScript, React, Next.js, and Node.js.
• Strong experience with relational databases, Git for version control, and Docker for containerization.
• Proven experience with modern testing practices and CI/CD pipelines for reliable software delivery.
• Strong communication skills in English (both written and spoken) for effective collaboration with our international clients and team.
• An adaptable and collaborative problem-solver, with a strong desire to learn and take on new challenges.

Bonus Points If You Have

• Familiarity with AWS services and GitHub Actions.
• Hands-on experience with Generative AI tools like the OpenAI API or Gemini API.
• Experience working with PayloadCMS.
• Professional working proficiency in German.
