    Automation QA Engineer

***This position is based in Sofia, Bulgaria, with hybrid working options. Applicants must have a work/residence permit for the respective location.***

We’re looking for a QA Engineer with proven experience in software testing and automation, including hands-on work with Python and desktop automation frameworks. The ideal candidate is someone who can lead the development of automated test cases, drive high test coverage across projects, and contribute to continuous improvements in our QA automation approach. Experience with automation tools and integrations within desktop environments is highly valued, while knowledge of 3D design software is considered a strong advantage. You don’t need to check every box — we’re happy to train the right candidate who’s motivated to grow in this space.

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Lead the implementation and development of Functional, UI, Usability, and System automated test cases.
    • Long-term target of at least 80% automated test coverage of existing user workflows and performance thresholds, aiming at high application reliability.
    • Collaborate with developers and other QA team members to identify, resolve, and prevent issues.
    • Learn about DCC/CAD pipelines and how they integrate with our software tools.

    Job requirements:

    • At least 4 years of previous QA experience and at least 1 year of SDET work experience.
    • Demonstrated experience using Python (you’ll be given a test task to verify).
    • Ability to define test strategies, write detailed test plans and test cases, investigate failures, and provide clear, actionable bug reports, following established company QA practices.
    • Proficiency with tools such as JIRA, GitLab, Azure DevOps, or similar for issue tracking.
    • Experience with Test Management plugins for Jira (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr, XRay).
    • Ability to evaluate and implement automated test scenarios for both individual products and integrated product workflows.
    • Proven ability to onboard and mentor less experienced QA team members, supporting them in adopting established QA Automation practices.
    • Experience in maintaining existing QA automation frameworks, while continuously researching and introducing improvements based on the latest industry trends.

    Advantages:

    • Experience with tools for desktop automation testing, e.g., SikuliX, OpenCV, Squish, Robot, or other image-based/UI testing frameworks or tools.
    • Experience testing plug-ins or integrations within desktop environments (DCC/CAD environments is a significant advantage).
    • Exposure to cross-platform development and testing (Windows, macOS, Linux).
    • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI.
    • Knowledge of 3D design software such as 3ds Max, Unreal Engine, or Cinema4D is a significant advantage, though not a strict requirement.

    Why Chaos?

    • Working for a globally recognized company for its cutting-edge products and honored with Academy Award for its contribution to motion pictures
    • Working alongside talented people in an environment which fosters learning and knowledge-sharing
    • Supplemental health insurance
    • Flexible working hours and additional days off
    • Competitive remuneration package
    • Technical trainings and certifications
    • Play and relax area in the office
    • Special Discounts

We welcome people who value teamwork, stick to their agreements and are curious to explore new ways for achieving mastery.
