    Position Overview

    Our client is one of the UK’s leading digital banks, known for delivering transparent and accessible financial solutions through a user-friendly mobile platform.

    We are looking for a skilled Android Engineer to help elevate the mobile experience for our growing customer base as we expand our product offerings—including flexible payment services.

    You will join a long-term initiative focused on improving app performance, designing new features, and shaping best practices in mobile development.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Develop, optimize, and maintain scalable Android applications using Kotlin
    • Identify bottlenecks and bugs and devise solutions to improve application performance and stability
    • Collaborate with designers, product managers, and backend engineers to define and implement user-centric features
    • Guide and support other mobile engineers, contributing to a strong native mobile development culture
    • Promote engineering best practices, with a focus on performance, maintainability, and code quality
    • Actively contribute to the mobile platform strategy and architecture

     

    Requirements

    • 5+ years of experience in native Android development with Kotlin
    • Strong understanding of Android frameworks, architecture, and performance optimization techniques
    • Proven experience building and publishing apps to the Google Play Store
    • Deep focus on quality, user experience, and performance
    • Experience working on modern, high-engagement consumer apps
    • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
    • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and app store release processes

     

    Nice To Have

    • Experience with React Native and awareness of trade-offs between native and hybrid approaches
    • Understanding of mobile security best practices
