We are looking for an experienced Java software engineer with a broad technical expertise to join our Platform team developing an award-winning REST API for the Unified Communications service and specializing in how applications (mobile, desktop, browser) interact with this service.
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Deskside Engineer to join our IT support team. The ideal candidate will provide hands-on technical support to end-users, ensuring an efficient resolution of hardware and software issues at the user’s desk. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, excellent communication, and basic leadership abilities to support both day-to-day operations and small team initiatives.
This role requires on-site presence at our office to support effective collaboration and teamwork.
Responsibilities:
Provide onsite technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, and other end-user devices.
Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues for employees.
Install, configure, and upgrade systems and software according to company policies.
Collaborate with IT service desk and infrastructure teams for issue escalation and resolution.
Maintain accurate records of support activities, inventory, and user requests.
Perform routine maintenance tasks and proactive system monitoring.
Assist with onboarding/offboarding processes, including device preparation and user access setup.
Support users in conference rooms and shared IT environments.
Coordinate small IT projects or improvement tasks with minimal supervision.
Provide basic guidance and mentorship to junior support staff as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Proven experience in deskside or desktop support in a corporate environment.
Strong problem-solving ability with knowledge of Windows, Linux and macOS operating systems.
Familiar with hardware installations, troubleshooting, and asset management practices.
Basic networking knowledge (wired and wireless connectivity, VPN, etc.).
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
Demonstrated initiative and willingness to take ownership of issues.
Basic leadership skills: can guide peers, coordinate small tasks, and demonstrate responsibility and integrity.
English proficiency; additional languages are a plus.
