    ITS Vice Presidency Context

    The Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) Vice Presidential Unit (VPU) enables the World Bank Group to achieve its mission of ending extreme poverty and boost shared prosperity on a livable planet by delivering transformative information and technologies to its staff working in over 150+ locations.     Department Context

    ITS Corporate Solutions (ITSCO) partners with the World Bank Group’s Corporate vice presidencies to drive innovation, build effective partnerships, and empower staff to deliver on the promise of a Better Bank. The department’s three key units deliver scalable mission-critical IT solutions, ensuring a robust and effective digital architecture based on an evolving ITS strategy. ITSCO comprises three Units: Digital Engagement (ITSCD), Corporate Technology (ITSCC), and Workforce Solutions (ITSWS). 
    Duties and Responsibilities:

    This Position will report to the Director & Chief Information Officer of Corporate Solutions. Below is a summary of the expected duties and accountabilities, among others:

    Specific Responsibilities

    1. Orchestrate Full-Stack Team Excellence
Lead the strategic development and operational management of a distributed technology team, fostering a culture of innovation while ensuring seamless collaboration across multiple time zones and cultural contexts. Drive talent acquisition, mentorship programs, and performance optimization to build our next-generation development capabilities.

    2. Architect & Deliver Integrated Digital Solutions
Help design and oversee the implementation of comprehensive digital solutions spanning our corporate ecosystem—from intuitive intranets and streamlined HR self-service platforms to sophisticated case management systems. Ensure architectural coherence across our heterogeneous technology landscape while maintaining scalability and user-centric design principles.

    3. Champion Modern Development Methodologies
Spearhead the adoption and refinement of cutting-edge development practices, including DevOps pipelines, low-code/no-code platforms, and AI-enhanced development tools. Establish robust data and content engineering frameworks while integrating agentic AI capabilities to accelerate solution delivery and enhance system intelligence.

    4. Drive Cross-Organizational Technology Advocacy
Serve as a technology evangelist, cultivating stakeholder relationships and presenting compelling business cases for digital transformation initiatives. Translate complex technical concepts into strategic business value propositions that resonate with leadership and end-users alike.

    5. Cultivate Innovation & Strategic Technology Vision
Identify emerging technologies and methodologies that align with our corporate objectives, help establish proof-of-concept initiatives and innovation. Help lead the evaluation and integration of next-generation tools and frameworks that will position our organization at the forefront of digital excellence.

    Selection Criteria

    1. Advanced Technology Architecture & Full-Stack Development

    Expertise
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience designing and implementing enterprise-grade solution architectures in heterogeneous technology environments. Must demonstrate proficiency across multiple full-stack development frameworks, with proven capability in delivering complex digital solutions such as enterprise intranets, workflow automation, and case management systems. Strong foundation in cloud platforms, microservices architecture, and API integration required.

    2. Modern Development Methodology Mastery

    Demonstrated expertise in contemporary development approaches including DevOps practices and CI/CD pipeline implementation. Must possess practical experience with low-code/no-code platforms, AI-enabled development tools, and agentic AI solutions. Candidates should showcase successful integration of data engineering principles and content management strategies within agile development environments.

    3.Global Team Leadership & Cross-Cultural Management Excellence

    Proven track record of working with geographically distributed development teams across multiple time zones and cultural contexts. Must demonstrate exceptional ability to foster collaborative relationships, drive team performance, and maintain cohesive project delivery standards while celebrating diverse perspectives and working styles.

    4. Strategic Communication & Executive Stakeholder Engagement

    Strong presentation and advocacy skills with demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts into compelling business narratives for C-suite and senior leadership audiences. Must possess strong interpersonal capabilities to influence cross-functional teams, champion technology innovative initiatives, and build consensus around strategic technology decisions.

    5. Digital Transformation Leadership & Innovation Catalyst

    Comprehensive experience in enterprise digital solution delivery spanning HR self-service platforms, business process automation, and personalized user experience design. Must demonstrate successful track record of driving technology modernization initiatives, implementing scalable solutions that meet diverse corporate requirements, and maintaining solution portfolios that consistently exceed performance and user satisfaction benchmarks.
