Senior Test Automation Engineer (Python)

Our client, a leader in cybersecurity, offers an email gateway that protects corporate resources by blocking malicious emails, untrusted senders, and phishing attacks.

This product enables secure communication and helps organizations defend against ransomware, advanced malware, spam, and data loss using a multilayered approach. It includes advanced threat protection to detect, block, and remediate threats quickly, prevent data loss, and secure sensitive information in transit with end-to-end encryption.

Our task is to work with both Python 2.6 and Python 3.8.

IF YOU ARE

• Experienced with 4+ years in software testing and development
• Knowledgeable in quality assurance principles and best practices, including integration, system, regression, performance, and user acceptance testing
• Skilled in object-oriented design and programming using modern languages such as Python
• Involved in contributing to test strategy, planning, and automation implementation
• Familiar with agile software development tools for test management, such as JIRA
• Experienced in designing and developing test strategies and plans, conducting quality reviews, implementing standards, tracking defects, and resolving system or environment issues
• Strong in utilizing test automation and performance testing with sound judgment on when automation supports a TQM solution
• Proficient in measuring QA effectiveness and generating enterprise metrics to report status and proactively identify and mitigate risks
• Capable of measuring test automation effectiveness through coverage metrics and reporting
• Great at collaborating with cross-functional or matrixed teams to ensure top-tier quality delivery
• Clear in written and verbal communication, comfortable engaging with executive leadership when needed

• Promote SoftServe’s best practices, processes, and procedural efficiencies to enhance testing
• Review and refine reference architectures and frameworks for automated testing
• Design, develop, and execute UI automation tests using a framework built in Python
• Update existing UI automation tests
• Analyze and translate business requirements and user stories into test cases, testing suites, and testing scripts
• Create, write, and execute detailed and comprehensive automated test plans and test cases
• Participate in backlog grooming, sprint planning sessions, and SCRUMs as necessary
• Design, create, and maintain test data as needed to support quality testing
• Identify, record, thoroughly document, and track defects
• Perform thorough regression testing upon defect resolution
• Refine specifications and determine usability and operational feasibility
• Work with the development team to debug software defects
• Comply with project plans, industry standards, and regulatory compliance requirements
• Promote, advocate for, and help execute QA and CI/CD process automation
• Provide leadership and promote process and procedural efficiencies to enhance testing methods and overall quality
