Software Engineering Team Lead for ML & AI Platforms

Our Advanced Analytics and AI Department is building state-of-the-art technology (machine learning platform and models) in order to enable data-driven decision making for various advanced analytics uses cases / applications (e.g. pricing, churn, propensity-to-buy, campaign automation etc.). Machine Learning Platform is foundational solution that enables multiple use-cases inside the Bank: machine learning model development and deployment, customer offer computation and automating real-time customer journeys.

We are looking for talented and self-driven professional, that will lead the team designing and developing our Machine Learning Platform (MLP). Our MLP is built on Azure Cloud, using Azure services, open-source tools and custom developed code. It is a great opportunity to really make an impact on banking!

Software Engineering Team Lead for ML & AI Platforms

Responsibilities:

• Owns the MLP architecture and roadmap
• Align with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Markets, IT Cloud & IT On Prem, InfoSec & other teams on future development of Machine Learning Platform
• Lead integration of MLP with other Bank’s systems
• Ensure stable operation of production environment, provide all required observability stack, maintain runbooks and incident response procedures
• R&D infrastructure & service improvements via new approaches, frameworks, etc.
• Proposals for changes
• Collaborate with the data scientists’ team to improve the monitoring of the machine learning models performance.
• Participates in different digital projects and cross functional teams.

Expectations:

• Strong Python experience (sqlalchemy, fastapi, etc.)
• Docker & Kubernetes knowledge
• Understanding of software design patterns and testing
• Ownership mentality, curiosity & pro-active approach
• Verbal and written English

Ideal candidate:

• Knowledge of relational databases (Postgres) and streams (Kafka)
• Azure and Databricks experience
• Experience with Java or Scala

Your challenges:

• We are building a Machine Learning Platform and we will require low-latency features- and data-stores for real-time model-serving. Hence there are a handful of challenges for our Development team:
• Design and build micro-services to facilitate fast pace of change
• Create state-of-the-art model serving architecture
• Engrain development, testing & deployment best practices to reduce risks and amount of mundane work
