About the Company

Our client is a boutique data consultancy known for delivering complex SQL Server solutions to clients in sectors such as finance, healthcare, and energy. The team is led by senior experts with deep technical expertise and a passion for high-performance data systems. As part of their growth, they’re looking for an experienced Database Administrator to join on long-term consulting projects with clients across Bulgaria and Scandinavia.

This is a hands-on role focused on performance tuning, automation, and infrastructure design. You’ll work with large-scale environments and contribute to critical systems that handle millions of records.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and support SQL Server instances (2008–2022) on-prem and in Azure
• Monitor performance (Query Store, wait stats, indexing, deadlocks)
• Maintain backup, security, and access control strategies
• Build and support HA/DR setups (AlwaysOn, log shipping, replication)
• Automate tasks via PowerShell, T-SQL, and Azure DevOps
• Contribute to solution design for BI, analytics, and DWH infrastructures
• Participate in database migrations, optimization, and capacity planning

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience as a SQL Server DBA
• Strong knowledge of T-SQL, relational modeling, and SQL Server internals
• Practical experience with HA/DR technologies
• Skilled in troubleshooting and performance diagnostics
• Advantage: experience with PowerShell, Azure SQL, monitoring tools, DevOps
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to work independently
