Data DevOps Engineer

We are looking for a talented and proactive Data DevOps Engineer to join EPAM and make a significant impact by delivering robust and scalable data solutions for a prominent client.

In this position, you will directly shape and improve the data transformation framework that powers our client’s analytical data ecosystem.

Responsibilities

Design and maintain production systems using Azure technologies like Azure Data Lake Storage and Azure Databricks

Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions with Terraform to manage deployments, builds, and configurations

Optimize Azure Databricks clusters for performance, security, and cost-effectiveness

Deploy monitoring, alerting, and observability tools to ensure seamless system operations

Identify operational inefficiencies and create automation solutions to streamline processes

Guarantee data platform reliability and handle incident management with prompt troubleshooting

Requirements

A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Data Engineering, DevOps, or a similar role

Background in platform reliability and operations, including system monitoring and incident management

Expertise in Azure services such as Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 and Azure Databricks

Proficiency in Terraform for creating Infrastructure as Code within Azure and Databricks environments

Familiarity with data governance tools like Unity Catalog in Databricks

Knowledge of Azure access control models, including RBAC and Microsoft Entra ID

Capability to automate workflows using APIs, such as Databricks REST APIs, alongside scripting knowledge

Proficiency in English at a B2+ level or higher

Nice to have

Competency in administering Databricks tasks, including cluster management, job scheduling, and workspace configurations

Background in working with multinational, distributed enterprise teams

Understanding of managing data platform operations, including pipeline governance and cost-control mechanisms

Familiarity with HANA Cloud Platform and SAP Business Technology Platform
