    Main Scope:

    The role of Support Engineer with Kubernetes will support our client’s Global AMS Team by providing operational support for the full suite of applications within the Risk Domain of our client’s commodity trading business.

    This role plays a vital part in ensuring the resilience and performance of critical systems used daily by Market Risk, Credit Risk, and P&L teams.

    This role requires a broad technical skillset, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to handle complex support scenarios across cloud-native, vendor-supported, and internally developed applications.

    The Support Engineer with Kubernetes will work closely with the Service Delivery Manager, Risk Development Teams, and key business stakeholders to deliver proactive, high-quality application support in a demanding, fast-paced trading environment.

     

    Main responsibilities:

    • Act as a central point of contact for Level 2 support across critical Risk applications (Market Risk, Credit Risk, Daily P&L), ensuring stability and quick resolution of incidents.
    • Offer technical guidance and operational insights to improve system integration, performance, and supportability.
    • Perform detailed diagnostics to resolve application, infrastructure, or data-related issues, ensuring optimal system performance.
    • Address day-to-day production issues following ITIL best practices (incident, problem, change management) with a focus on root cause analysis and prevention.
    • Establish and maintain scalable support runbooks, knowledge bases, and operational procedures for both reactive and proactive support.
    • Help assess technical feasibility and estimate effort for new features, enhancements, or fixes.
    • Continuously update knowledge on cloud-native services, Kubernetes/AKS, monitoring tools, and security best practices to meet evolving platform standards.

     

    Main requirements:

    • 5-8 years of System Administrator experience
    • Proven hands-on experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) – min 3 years: cluster upgrades, node pool management, scaling, and log-based troubleshooting.
    •  Strong understanding of Kubernetes architecture: pods, services, ingress, Helm charts, config maps, secrets, and deployment pipelines.
    •  Knowledge of Linux (RHEL/CentOS) and Windows Server environments.
    • Experience with Talend, Apache Tomcat, and other middleware platforms – nice to have.
    • Working knowledge of Java-based applications – basic understanding of code structure for debugging and log analysis – nice to have.
    • Familiarity with VMware, virtualization layers, and basic infrastructure dependencies.
    • Hands-on experience with monitoring tools: Azure Monitor, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana.
    • Automation scripting using PowerShell and Python for operational efficiency – nice to have.
    • SQL skills; hands-on experience with Oracle DB and MSSQL, including:
    • Writing and optimizing PL/SQL stored procedures and views.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Computer Science – a Degree in Informatics will be considered as a plus
